Who we are
This website, amberlanemedia.com, is operated by Amber Lane Media, based in New Jersey, USA (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information we collect when you visit the site, how we use it, and the choices you have.
How to contact us
Email: michelle@amberlanemedia.com
Information we collect
Server logs. The site is hosted by Hetzner. Like most web servers, it automatically records basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the date and time. We use this only to deliver the site, keep it secure and fix problems.
Your cookie choice. Our cookie banner stores your choice in your browser (local storage key alm_consent) so we don’t ask you again on every page.
Emails you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message.
We do not ask you to create an account, and the site has no forms that collect personal information.
Analytics
No analytics or advertising tools are active on this site right now. If we add a tool such as Google Analytics 4 or Google Tag Manager in the future, it will only load after you click “Accept analytics”, and we will update this section to describe the provider, what it collects and why.
How we use information
We use the information above to run and secure the website, to respond to messages, and to remember your cookie choice.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. We share information only with service providers who help us run the site (such as our hosting provider), or when required by law.
Cookies and similar technologies
By default we use only the essential browser storage needed to remember your cookie choice. All fonts are hosted on our own server, so no requests are made to external font services.
Analytics
If you click “Accept analytics” in our cookie banner, we use Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to understand how visitors use the site, such as which pages are viewed, how long visits last, and how people arrive here. Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics are loaded only after you accept. If you choose “Essential only” or make no choice, nothing is loaded from Google.
When enabled, Google Analytics sets cookies and collects usage and device information, such as pages visited, links clicked, approximate location (city or region), browser, device type, screen size and referring website. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. We use this information only in aggregate to improve the site; we do not use it for advertising.
You can withdraw your consent at any time by choosing (also in the footer) and selecting “Essential only”. You can also clear cookies in your browser. Google’s handling of data is described in its privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Your choices
You can change your cookie choice at any time using “Cookie settings” in the footer. You can also clear cookies and local storage in your browser settings, or set your browser to block them.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under US state privacy laws (for example, California’s CCPA/CPRA) to ask what personal information we have about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We don’t sell or share personal information, but we will honor these requests from any visitor. To make a request, email us at the address above. We will not treat you differently for making a request.
Children’s privacy
This site is intended for businesses and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
How long we keep information
Server logs: [TODO: confirm log retention period]. Emails are kept as long as needed to handle your request and our ongoing business relationship. Your cookie choice stays in your browser until you change or clear it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page.
